The Employment Program at Heartland Services secures jobs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), allowing them to earn an income and supporting themselves independently.

Our qualified Employment Specialists contracts with Vocational Rehabilitation and Managed Care Organizations to assist customers with:

Building a resume

Applying for jobs online and in person

Job preparation /Interview Training

Finalizing new hire paperwork

Job orientation and training (as needed)

Checking-in on occasion with the employer and employee

Providing travel training

Assisting with developing and achieving professional goals

The Employment Program focuses beyond the typical jobs in which a person might be placed. Heartland Services focuses on finding work that matches the job seeker’s interests and talents.

We assist you in finding a job that you want to do, by matching you with a business that fits your needs and interests.

We search for jobs that that are competitive, integrated, and located in your community, connect you with resources and contacts, as well as provide you with ongoing support and resources through the course of your employment.
