Heartland Services is a private, non-profit agency designed to provide a wide range of professional training and rehabilitation services to people with disabilities.  Heartland Services, originally known as Douglas Cooperative, was founded by a small group of concerned parents in 1975 and chartered in 1976.  Heartland Services provides supports to individuals in Blount, Cocke, Jefferson and Sevier Counties. Our mission is to provide quality services that promote personal choice, self-respect and dignity.

We support individual choices and provide services to approximately 150 individuals in the four-county area.

Our major funding comes from the State of Tennessee. However, the full extent of our services could not be realized without the vital support of our community, local county governments, business partners, foundations, civic groups, volunteers, family, and friends.

Heartland Services is proud to be a United Way agency.
